What is Alar Trimming?

Alar Trimming, or Alarplasty, is usually performed on patients who posses wide nostrils and flaring alar lobule. Most patients who request for this procedure are Asians, since they naturally tend to carry a wide, round nasal tip with an overhang of the alar lobule. How is Alar Trimming Performed?

Since Alar Trimming is a minor procedure, complications are mostly simple and rare. They include bleeding, infection, deviation of the implant, asymmetry, and prolonged redness of the nose in case the implant is scheduled for an extrusion. Side-effects include bruising and some minor swelling.
