How long do you need to take pain meds?

I’m thinking hard about getting a tummy tuck because my belly’s really hanging loose, especially as  I’m often in office clothes and I meet with various clients frequently.  I’m quite sure our clients don’t care what I look like, but you never know, right? I honestly look hideous, especially from the side.  So what I’m begging to know is: how long do you guys take your pain meds after tummy tuck? Are the meds also very effective (meaning you don’t feel even a pinch of sensation)?
