Does hair transplant work?

Hi, I guess I’m first to post here.  First of all, this new message board part looks nice.  At least now we have a way to interact with other people who’ve had plastic surgery or questions about it.  Anyway, so my husband’s hair started to thin about a year ago.  It looked fine back then but now it’s becoming obvious.  And he’s beginning to feel uncomfortable about it.  So has anyone out here had an experience with the hair transplant thing? Did it work? Is there a maintenance component to it?
