Plastic Surgery a Rising New Year Trend in New England, US
New England patients eager to start 2011 with new lives are reportedly flocking to plastic surgery centers to jumpstart resolutions of physical fitness and transformation. This is also said to coincide with failed attempts during the past year to achieve desired results naturally.
Surgeons explain that, for instance, clients turn to liposuction in January after failing to lose the extra pounds during the past year.
“It’s new beginnings,” explained Dr. Steven Margolis, owner of New England Cosmetic Surgery. “We’d all love to change who we are, the habits we have, for the better. They see this as a great starting point.”
David Reeves, a 55-year old expressed similar sentiments.
“It’s given me a head start,” he said. “This way I’m already there and I can get even leaner and meaner.”
Health clubs are also reportedly experiencing the same yearly trend, with customers eager to gain momentum and advancement on their vows to get healthier.
Cheryl Clarkson, owner of SkinHealth Centers, revealed that that the clubs see a healthy surge of customers in January.
“They get up their resolve and they say this is the year they want to do it,” she explained. “And, of course, they want it done right away.”
Clarkson recalled a man spending $2,500 for his wife’s eyelid surgery.
“She said all she wanted for Christmas was to wake up and look in the mirror and look young and refreshed,” said Clarkson.
