Surgeons tasked to remove faulty breast implants manufactured by Poly Implant Prothese (PIP) can now conveniently show patients how their breasts will look like after the procedure. Crisalix, a Swiss company responsible for the e-Stetix 3D simulation system for breast implants, recently released a new add-on mainly to help with the PIP issue. The add-on is free to any plastic surgeon performing PIP revision.
The 3D simulation requires taking three photos of the patient’s torso then using the e-Stetix 3D editor to remove the original implant volume. After the resulting 3D model has been saved, new surgery can be planned using the application.
The e-Stetix is the first web-based 3D breast implant simulation tool designed for plastic surgery that features rendering from sample images.
